Sue GOD???
by MW Rivers

Recently in the news this year 2008, it has been reported that a gentleman who
is disgruntled with the world would like to attempt to sue GOD.  Imagine that!
Apparently he feels that GOD is not doing such a good job with running the
place down here and so the following I have written …
in defense of GOD:

In the beginning GOD, the creator, and his creation were in right relationship with each
other.  GOD would at times come down to the garden in the cool of the day,
(Gen.3:8),
and talk with man.  But we see in Gen.3:6 that man disobeyed GOD by eating off of one
of the “
two trees” he had been forbidden to eat from and in Gen.3:7 man’s eyes were
opened to see good and evil for the “
first” time.  That day “sin” and death by sin, or
death being the penalty for sin, entered into the world
(Rom.5:12) and a big change
occurred not only to man, but to the rest of creation as well.  Now you might think it a
strange request that GOD would ask man to refrain from eating the fruit of two specific
trees, but GOD had already given man everything he needed and well, dem were da
rules,…which more light shall be shed upon as we move along here.  But going back to
the garden, in disobeying GOD we see in Gen.3:4 that the serpent, aka satan, had snuck
into the garden and “
deceived” the woman into eating of the fruit of the Tree of the
Knowledge of Good and Evil and gave it to Adam who ate of it as well.  Upon GOD’s
gaining of this knowledge and after discourse between Himself, the serpent, the man and
the woman, a curse was placed on the serpent, the man, the woman and on the
earth…by GOD.  Then man was driven from the garden lest he should eat of the other
tree as well which was the Tree of Life,
(Gen.3:14-24).  Now, was this a harsh
punishment?  Well, no, not exactly, because GOD in His “
love” did not want man to live
eternally in this altered or  “
fallen” state which would have been the result if he had again
been tempted and eaten of the fruit from the Tree of Life.  GOD who “
loved” his creation
so much had a much greater plan for man and that was to restore him back to his
original state”.  But to do so, man was now in need of a redeemer.  This redeemer had
to be a man, “
one of us”, but he also had to be a “sinless man” and “willing” to come
and pay the price for sin that would be required.  Since mankind was no longer without
sin, nor would his descendants be, how could anybody possibly qualify to be his
redeemer?  Thus began the unfolding of the “
plan of the ages”!

But to shed more light on this “
fallen” state of man here, although we are not told exactly
in Genesis, apparently when man disobeyed GOD, ownership of man, the world and all
that is within it was “
legally”, you might say, transferred to this deceiver who had crept
into the garden.  In other words, GOD’s creation had been seized and imprisoned!  And I
can imagine that there was a pretty hefty ransom set to get it all back too.  And to support
this apparent transfer, let’s fast forward to Matt.4:8-10 in the New Testament.  Here,
satan, of all beings, is offering Christ, GOD’S Son who has come into the world to save
mankind and the creation, the kingdoms of the “
entire world”!   But there was just one
catch and that was this, Christ, GOD's son now, had to bow down and worship him,
satan, as if he were GOD…which of course, praise GOD, never happened.  If Jesus had
succumbed to this temptation, taking the easy way out you might say and bypassing the
cross, GOD’s plan would have thus be thwarted and man would still be in need of a
sinless redeemer who could and would come to pay the price for sin.  So, in moving
along, one would have to ask the following question here, which is this, “
How on earth
can you, satan, offer something to someone, Christ,  that you don’t “already”
possess
?...And the answer is,…simply stated, “You can’t.”  And so it is here that we
see plainly just who it is that is in control of the earth and also who it is that has been the
responsible party for all the chaos over the millenniums; the one in whose possession the
world has been since man’s disobedience in the garden and currently is to this day,
namely…satan, that deceiving, rebellious serpent of old.
(Job1:6-7, Rev 12:9 and 20:2)

So, let’s fast forward now to the future, the “
NEAR” future.  In Rev. 5 we see the
resurrected” Christ, GOD’s righteous son, who “willingly and lovingly” came into the
world and became a man like “
one of us”, lived a sinless life “among us” and who
allowed Himself to be sacrificed for the sin of the world “
by us”.  He is the “sinless
Lamb of God who shed His righteous blood to make atonement for man’s sin and in
doing so qualified HIM to be “
the redeemer” of the whole world.  (One might ask here
why was the shedding of His blood needed?  And the answer to that question is this:
Since man’s life is only possible by the blood flowing through his body, his blood is
basically his life’s source, which means Christ literally gave His “
life” so that He could
redeem “
ours” which says to me, “Hey…He’s on “our” side!”)  In verse 7 of Rev. 5 we
see Him holding a book, or scroll, in His hand, a contract if you will, most probably the
title deed to the earth and all that is within it, and He is the only one found worthy in “
all” of
Heaven and earth to break the seals there upon and open it.  The time to make all things
right with the creation and the judgment of GOD upon an unbelieving world has finally
come; the “
cataclysmic culmination” of the ages.  In Rev 11:15 we see that “finally
the kingdoms of this world and all that is within them have now at last been “
legally
restored to their rightful owners for they become the kingdoms of GOD and of His Christ
wherein He, Christ, shall reign over them forever.  To those who believed in Him and
received Him as their savior, eternity with GOD awaits them. We are told in 1 Cor.2:9
that eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it even entered into the heart of man, the
things which GOD has prepared for them that love Him.  But for those who cho
ose not to
believe, sadly they will be judged and thrown into the Lake of Fire with satan and all the
rebellious angels,
(Rev 20:10 – 15), who will be tormented forever.  Remember, the
penalty for the sin that entered into the world is death and to all those who do not come to
Christ, sadly  “
that will” be their end.

So, in my opinion, in looking at all the facts, this man who wants to sue GOD is trying to
sue, well…the wrong being.  It is satan who is responsible for man’s woes,
NOT GOD!
And if there is any suing that can be or should be done, I would strongly suggest that this
individual make sure he attempts to sue
the “
right” being as it is very apparent he does not know who GOD really is or even have
a clear understanding of the scriptures.  The one source, the Holy Bible, wherein we are
told so much about GOD; not only man’s creator, but man’s “
loving” Heavenly Father as
well,
(Matt 6:14, 26, 32, and Luke 11:13), gives us the truth.  In John 3:16 we are told that
GOD “
so loved” the world that He sent His Son into it to redeem man back to Himself;
out” of the clutches of the enemy.  It was His choice, out of His “love” for His creation
because nowhere are we told anywhere that He “
had” to send His Son or in fact,
…anyone else to redeem us.  In John 3:3 we are also told that we must be “
born again”,
this “
second time” of the Spirit, a part of GOD which is imparted to us upon belief in
Christ.  In Acts 4:12 we are told that there is salvation in no other, but Christ.  And in John
3:15 we are told that “
whosoever” believes in Him, Christ, should not perish, but have
eternal life!

2 Peter 3:9 states that GOD is long
suffering willing that no one should perish.  And for
some 6000 years now, He has been steadily working out His plan and “
patiently
waiting for all those who would believe in His Son to come to Him.  But soon this time will
come to its’ end and man’s “
freedom” to make a decision for Christ will be no more as
the set time of the judgment is “
fast” approaching.  The life of Jesus Christ, His death by
crucifixion, burial and resurrection are recorded in the Gospels which are the first four
books of the New Testament… and the New Testament as well as the Old are full of
prophecies foretelling both His first and second coming.  I would urge anyone to find out
just “
who” He is!  This age or Dispensation of Grace that we presently live in which
began shortly after His death will end after He has called out of the world a people for His
name,
Acts 15:14, who, by the way, will be spared from GOD’s approaching judgment via
a catching away, aka the rapture,
(I Thess. 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:9 and 2 Thess. Chapter 2).  After
this, the transference of the creation and the judgment of the nations will begin and in
reading the prophecies in the Bible concerning it, it is going to be ugly folks and I do
mean ugly.  Then Christ will set up His kingdom on earth,
(Acts 15:16), a kingdom in which
there will be no more sin, no more sickness or disease and no more death!
Now, I
don’t know about you, but that sounds like a place I can live with; in fact it
sounds like a place I long for!  Don't you?

And so now, GOD invites “
you” to come!  Remember, the call is to “whosoever” will
in John 3:15 and 16.  Will “
you” come to Him before this Age of Grace is over; before it
is truly too late?  He loves you no matter what the condition you are in; for we read in John
3:17 that He didn’t come into the world to condemn us, but that through Him we might be
saved”; our pardon purchased on Calvary at Christ’s crucifixion.  And lastly, for “the
best news of all
”, according to Rom 5:18 and 6:23, 2 Cor. 9:15, and Eph. 2:8, man’s
redemption or salvation through Jesus Christ is a “
free gift”!!!  It is from GOD, “your
loving Heavenly Father; and it is “
yours”,  just for the taking.  Imagine that!  I’ve already
made my decision to receive my redemption by accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and
Savior;

now how about you?
