A pregnant woman was home one evening with her 3 year old daughter when a
huge storm came up, knocking out the power. As luck would have it, almost
immediately the woman began to go into labor. As the phones were still
working, she was able to call the paramedics for help. Upon their arrival they
realized that the woman was too far into labor to get her to the hospital and that
they would need to deliver the baby in her home. Because there was no
electricity, the paramedic asked the little girl if she could hold a flashlight on her
mother so that they could see to get the baby out. The little girl was only too glad
to help her mother. The mother pushed and pushed and finally the baby was
born. The paramedic pulled the baby up by his feet and spanked his little
bottom. He cried and cried as most newborns do. After finally getting the
situation under control, the paramedic turned to the little girl to thank her for
doing such a good job holding the flashlight and commended her for being such
a brave little girl. He then asked her what she thought about all she had
witnessed there that evening. The little girl replied, " I think you need to spank
him again!" Surprised by her answer, the paramedic asked, "Why?" The little
girl responded,
"Well,...he ought to have known better than to crawl up there in the first place!"
